Experience:
A former Public Prosecutor and Magistrate; joined the firm in 1979 and admitted in 1980; became a partner in 1982. Daan works in the following practice areas:

High Court commercial litigation, including insituting and opposing interdicts and injunctions to protect client’s rights and interests, and instituting and defending action proceedings in claims for damages, and to enforce rights in commercial contracts.

Alternate dispute resolution, where he acts for claimants and defendants in arbitrations and other ADR matters involving commercial contractual disputes.

Commercial liquidations and sequestrations where he acts as judicial manager and liquidator in judicial management and liquidation proceedings brought under the Companies Act 2011.

Labour law, acting for employers in individual labour disputes and has represented many corporate clients in all the labour forums of Lesotho.

Daan also advises in the area of banking and finance law, and acts as the external legal advisor to the Central Bank of Lesotho.

Daan acts as the external legal advisor to the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority, where he advises on a range of commercial, contractual and labour issues.
